           Massage Therapy Policies / Agreement    

It is our intention to provide professional and therapeutic massage to help you reach your health and wellness goals. We understand that unanticipated events occur in everyone's life. In consideration of your time and our massage therapist, we have adopted the following policies for first-time and regular massage clients of MassageFX:

ARRIVAL POLICY: Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment. This provides time to determine the best treatment plan for you at each session, while allowing for an unhurried experience.

LATE ARRIVAL: If you are late, you will have the remaining time of your scheduled appointment but, extension is not usually possible. You will be charged the full price of your scheduled appointment. If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, please contact us via email: massagefx@hotmail.com

CANCELLATION: Please understand our therapists only get paid when they deliver a service. Hence, we understand genuine emergencies do occur therefore:

We appreciate 12 hours notice for any changes to your scheduled appointment. No refunds will be offered for cancellations without 12 hours notice. If you need to cancel/reschedule, please log into your Fresha account (created when you booked online) and amend your schedule. If you have any issues logging in, please email us: massagefx@hotmail.com. If you do not allow 12 hours notice, your prepayment is kept as compensation for our therapists time. It is important our therapists are compensated for the reserved time slots. 

NO-SHOW: A "No Show" occurs when a client fails to show up for a scheduled appointment without any prior notification or cancellation. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we kindly request that you notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment.

PAYMENT OBLIGATIONS: No show clients will be charged the full amount of the scheduled service(s) they missed. Your prepayment will be kept to cover our therapists time. We accept various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, or other agreed-upon methods.

REFUND POLICY: Due to the nature of our services and the commitment of our staff, we do not offer refunds for missed appointments or services rendered. We allocate time, resources, and effort to accommodate scheduled appointments, and a failure to honour a reservation can result in lost opportunities for other clients.

OTHER MASSAGE POLICIES: Children, toddlers, babies are not permitted in the clinic for safety purposes. Please attend your appointment alone. 

INFORMED CONSENT: As Medical Therapists, we collaborate closely with a number of medical experts and if required, we may seek your permission to obtain advice from your regular GP or Physical Therapist or Counsellor in order to carry out a safe treatment plan for you. This usually only applies to those with chronic medical conditions or those recovering from serious spinal injuries or those attending Trauma Therapy. As we take your health and well-being seriously, our Client Intake Forms are comprehensive and the information you provide helps us plan your treatment. We send this form via email once your online appointment is confirmed. It is important to send the form back to ascertain your treatment and avoid prepayment forfeit as per our Cancellation/No-Show policy above.

The treatment plan will be discussed during your assessment and/or at the beginning of each session. During your first visit you will be given a copy of our massage policies. You will asked to sign the consent statement that you have read, understand and agree to comply with the professional massage therapy policies and procedures. Clients who we have not seen for at least 1 year will also be asked to renew the consent form.

SCOPE OF PRACTICE: MassageFX NZ Therapists are licensed professionals and held to the highest standards. Massage therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client. Massage Therapists do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions nor are they allowed to provide treatment for a specific condition without a doctor's supervision. Massage Therapists are required to refer you to your GP/Physician for diagnosis and recommendations.

RESPECT FOR CLIENT NEEDS AND BOUNDARIES: The client may choose to leave as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods, stop the massage at any time and is free to leave if he/she feels their rights have been breached in any way. The client will always be draped appropriately. Only the areas worked on at the time will be uncovered. The clients will be kept well informed of the areas to be worked.

PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES: Adductors and gluteal areas can be worked through the draping if requested. Any area can be avoided at the clients request. Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind is NEVER appropriate. Requests for sexual activity are not tolerated, viewed as solicitation and the session terminated immediately. The incident will be reported to management and proper authorities under the guidelines of the massage therapy policies and procedures and the client banned from all future bookings.

  • All certificates/discount offers are valid for TWO (2) months from the point of sale date and will not be extended beyond the expiry. 
  • Certificates/Discounts cannot be transferred to another person and will render the gift certificate null and void.
  •  If you have a hard copy, you will be required to present this upon arrival to the clinic. You must present the original certificate. Photocopies or phone copies will not be accepted.
  • Advanced bookings are essential and subject to availability. Your appointment must be scheduled BEFORE the expiry date, NOT on the expiry date.
  • Certificates/Discounts cannot be exchanged for cash and are non-refundable/non-transferable.
  • Certificates/Discounts must be redeemed in full in one session. No change or cash back will be given and no certificate for the difference will be issued.
  • Any changes to experiences will be advised at the time of booking. Packages purchased cannot be amended or swapped for other services.
  • Late cancellation of reservations, within the prescribed cancellation policy, will render the certificate null and void.
  • Terms and Conditions are subject to change. Updates will be amended on our website.
